Feeling First- A Guitar Workshop with Eric Foerster - Mar 6, 2010
Eric Foerster, lead guitarist of Kingdom Come, was at NMC on Saturday, March 6th, for a rock guitar workshop. During his two-hour session, Eric covered a lot of ground, speaking first of his background and influences as a musician, then discussing the need for technique and virtuosity to be balanced with feeling and expression. He also explained how to get the best tone out of guitars and amplifiers, and even shared some performance tips with the crowd of seventy. The talk was interspersed with Eric playing a few Kingdom Come numbers with NMC teachers Sunit Kansakar, Riju Tuladhar, Iman Bikram Shah, and Daniel Roshaili. After the workshop, there was a lengthy question and answer session, as well as an opportunity for those in attendance to get a picture and autograph from Eric. The money that the Rs. 100 tickets brought in went to Nepal Orphans Home, where Eric has been volunteering.
